What kind of computer and Internet access do I need?
The Jubilee Academy online home school program has been designed to work well with a wide range of computers. The minimum requirements are: a Pentium III processor, 256K RAM, 6 gig hard drive, CD-ROM drive, and a 56K modem or faster connection. We highly suggest a printer.
Will your online home school program work with a Macintosh?
We cannot guarantee that our online home school software will run successfully on Macintosh computers. However, some of our customers have successfully completed our online home education program on Macs.
If I enroll more than one child, do they each need their own computer?
Home schoolers do not need to have their own computers. As long as home schoolers log in and out properly, they can easily share a computer.
How can I read PDF (Acrobat) files?
You need the free Acrobat reader.
What is online learning like?
The Jubilee Academy Christian home school program is parent-led, but that doesn’t mean that you’re alone. First of all, home school parents don’t have to worry about much of the clerical work or “busy work” that goes along with home schooling. Say goodbye to endless nights of lesson planning, home school portfolio creation, progress reporting, and home school record keeping. We take care of all of that for you. The Jubilee Academy provides all home school documentation so that you can focus on teaching. We make it easy for parents who are new to home schooling by designing the entire Christian home school curriculum as well.
Our home school curriculum is an engaging multimedia array of online and offline content. Home schooling with The Jubilee Academy Home school program provides students with a cutting-edge Christian home schooling education. Our professional Curriculum Developers are dedicated to creating course material that is both exciting and educational.
Can I print out the lessons for review while off the Internet?
As long as only the enrolled home schooler uses them. Some home school students find that reading from the computer hurts their eyes. By all means, print the home school materials if this is the case.
How can I check the progress of my student?
The Jubilee Academy’s online home school system keeps accurate records of each home school student’s progress throughout each year. Keeping Christian home schooling parents updated, it allows for field trips and community service activities. This includes all of your home schooler’s grades and information about extra-curricular activities submitted through the Joy Directed Activities folder.
Do you need to be able to type in order to complete the work?
Home school students do not need to know how to type. The “hunt-and-peck” method works just fine. Some home schoolers learn how to type using our online home school program.
How do I make sure I receive all of the important e-mails about my child's home school program?
Some e-mail services will accidentally put our e-mails in your 'Spam' folder. To avoid missing out on important information through this unfortunate type of situation, visit our Downloads page and download "Staying in Touch".
